Renault Developing Two Small Cars To Rival Tata Nano, Maruti and Hyundai

Once again, news regarding Renault’s development of small cars is reported by a website, Latribune.fr It is said that the Renault is working on two budget models, priced approximately at 5,000 Euros (~Rs. 3.61 Lakhs) and 3,000 Euros (~Rs. 2.16 Lakhs).

The 3,000 Euro car is set to compete with the existing cheapest car of the world, the Tata Nano. Though it is not known that if Renault’s car will be cheaper than Nano or not. These two budget models will be produced in India and won’t be directed to the European Car market.

The 5,000 Euro car will compete with the Newly Launched Maruti Alto 800, Hyundai Eon and the likes. This Renault car is code named as “B4A” and is expected to have an ARAI certified fuel efficiency of  24 – 26 kmpl. Earlier  we have reported about this development, read more about it here.

This means, the budget models from the Renault are set to make some noise across Asia, and could possibly make it to the U.S. to rival Nano there as well.

Though a lot more was expected from the pint sized immensely potent Nano, it could not spawn a huge success to its name.  However the upcoming Nano Diesel is one of the most awaited cars in India. Tata is also preparing a CNG version of Nano which should go on sale in a few months from now.

When Renault’s troop of budget cars will come into the field, the war will sure get harder!
