We Revealed it in Feb – Another Report Claims Sub 4 Meter Hyundai Compact SUV Coming at Auto Expo

New Hyundai Compact SUV will slot between i20 Active and Creta

While Maruti has been the king of options in India, Hyundai wants to follow suit and is planning to expand its range of SUVs. They already have the Santa Fe in the premium segment and Creta ruling the roost in the compact SUV segment (over 4 meters), word on the street is that they will be showcasing yet another compact SUV at the Auto Expo in February.

As per an article in Car and Bike, the South Korean giant buoyed by the response for Creta, has decided to bring an SUV which will be placed below their latest mini-SUV, a region which they are currently trying to fill with the i20 Active. This is bang on what MotorBash exclusively broke back in July with our revelation that Hyundai is working on a sub 4 metre SUV.

This new product will be an ideal opponent against the upcoming & recently confirmed Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. Expect the unveil to be followed up by a launch sometime this year. Apart from this the company is also rumoured to be getting ready with the return of the Tucson.

Since with their compact SUV, Hyundai will take advantage of the excise duty, in all probability, it will sport 1.2 liter petrol engine as well as the 1.4 CRDi diesel mill from the i20/Active.
