Renault has unveiled the Lodgy in India at a star-studded Bollywood Awards night and have announced Hrithik Roshan as the first customer of the MPV. But wait, apart from the natural eye-catchers Hrithik and Anil (Kapoor), there is more to the story…

Look closely and you will see a difference in the face of Lodgy. Move towards the sides and you nail it – that ‘STEPWAY’ badge! Yes, this confirms that Renault will launch the Lodgy Stepway in India apart from the regular Lodgy which is sold internationally.

What is Lodgy Stepway?

Showcased and unveiled at the Paris Auto Show last year, Lodgy Stepway is the more rugged version of Lodgy. It gets a few crossover-like trails like satin-chrome skid plates at the front and rear, satin surrounded fog lamps, extra cladding on the wheel arches and sides, metal finish on roof rails and bigger (16 inch) tyres.

Lodgy Stepway comes with some exclusive color options and ‘Stepway’ badges on the front doors.

Interiors also carry better upholstery with blue stitching, contrast blue surrounds to the instrument cluster etc. Lodgy Stepway also gets touchscreen infotainment system (which has already been spied in India), cruise control, climate control, steering mounted controls etc.

Regular Lodgy for comparison

Internationally, Lodgy Stepway’s engine options also include the 110PS version of the 1.5L K9K DCI diesel engine. As for prices, regular Lodgy variants start at € 9,990 (~ 7 Lakhs INR) in France whereas the Lodgy Stepway starts at € 14,200 (~10 Lakhs INR).

This Lodgy Stepway looks interesting and something better than the very average face of the regular Lodgy. Expect the launch announcement from Renault very soon…
