Ruzbeh Irani is Mahindra’s New Chief Communications & Ethics Officer

In an official Communication, Mahindra Group has informed a change in their Communications department. The Mahindra Group appointed Mr. Ruzbeh Irani as Chief Group Communications & Ethics Officer.

This announcement follows the retirement of Ms. Roma Balwani from the Group on March 31, 2014. She led the Communications function for nearly nine years at Mahindra.

Ruzbeh Irani is also a member of the Mahindra Group Executive Board, since 2010. He will work with all Mahindra Group businesses to develop and strengthen their communications strategy and execute them on a global scale. In addition, as the Chief Ethics Officer of the Group, he is also responsible for maintaining the standard of ethics and corporate governance across Mahindra.

Mr. Irani joined the Mahindra Group in March 2007 as Executive Vice President – Corporate Strategy, he was appointed as a Chief Brand Officer. He spearheaded in working out the ‘Rise’ ideology for the Group and also strengthened the brand positioning of Mahindra. He also had a role to play in making Mahindra the first Indian two-wheeler manufacturer to participate in Moto GP.

Irani also led Mahindra’s participation in football (the Mahindra Youth Football Challenge partnering with the Celtic Football Club) and basketball (the Mahindra NBA Challenge, partnering with the NBA). The Harvard Business School Alumni lives in Mumbai with his wife and two sons.
