Date back a few months, on 19th July we shared with MotorBash readers about a surprise story of Isuzu Motors planning to launch its BIG SUV MU7 in India. Well, here are the living snaps of the same!
Caught in Pune, this Isuzu MU7 looks huge and massive with space which could put to shame the biggest of SUVs we have seen in India so far. MU7 is powered by a 3.0L turbo-diesel mill which belts out 146bhp of power and 294Nm of torque.
Not really any earth-breaking figures these but the sheer size of the SUV makes it a head-turner. The design, however, is a little old style and not exactly to our Indian tastes. It looks like that before venturing into a full fledged manufacturing unit, Isuzu would ‘toy’ with this CBU (or CKD) MU7 from Thailand. MU7 is already on sale in South-East Asian markets.
Isuzu’s new facility is expected to be operational by 2014-15 with a capacity to produce 1-1.2 Lakh annual units. Not only this MU7, Isuzu is also expected to add its DMAX Pick-up to Indian portfolio soon. In its first year of operations, Isuzu plans to sell 1500 units.
Expect this BIG SUV to make way onto our Indian roads soon.
