Rate of Rupee has come to an all time low and as a result many companies are compelled to increase prices of their product. In the past year Rupee has depreciated by 26.75 per cent. So, now Skoda Auto India has decided to increase the prices of their entire car line-up to make-up the losses. The revised prices are expected to be officially announced within next two-three weeks. As sources say, the hike will be by up to 2 per cent, depending on the model.
Entry level model like Superb is expected to be costlier by Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 while top end sedans like Superb could become costlier by up to Rs. 30,000. Low level of localisation is putting extra burdens on Skoda India. However, Skoda is not the only one to raise prices, Toyota has already announced price hike for their cars a few weeks back. A few Multinational Car Manufacturers are also expected to follow this suit in near future!
