We have talked about the first ever spottings of the Audi A3 sedan only yesterday and now we have another spyshot of the car coming from Autocar India.
Harjoot Mankoo, an Autocar reader has shared a spy pic of Audi A3’s rear which reveals a few bits about the possibilities. The mule in question doesn’t sport LED elements in the tail lamps and nor does it have the LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights).
Stripping of such features hints at a possible aggressive pricing for the car. According to speculations, Audi may price the new A3 sedan around the Rs 25 Lakh mark in India. And hence, local assembly is imminent!
Internationally, Audi A3 competes with Mercedes CLA (A-Class based sedan), however, in India it will more fall around the region of Volvo’s V40 Cross Country, BMW’s X1. And that is till the time Mercedes launches the CLA in India which is also expected sometime next year.
Audi A3 is powered by 4 engine options:
- 170hp 1.8L TFSI petrol
- 2.0L TFSI in high and low power outputs
- 150hp 2.0L TDI diesel
It remains to be seen which engine options will we, in India, get. A3 will come with Audi drive-select system as well as manual gearbox options. The launch of Audi A3 is scheduled sometime next year and at a price tag of Rs 25 Lakh it will be a nice little prospect for people wanting to own affordable luxury sedans.
