Since the last couple of months, you would have seen a lot of spyshots of the new Skoda Octavia A7 from various cities of India. The big development was when we shared conclusive first time spyshots revealing the Octavia sporting the DSG gearbox on April 29th (See Spyshots)
Now, today we share with you more spyshots of the upcoming car that will replace the Laura in India. This was the DSG Automatic gearbox TDI diesel variant with glossy black panaromic sunroof and smoked headlamps. The new Octavia A7 also houses the latest Skoda trademark butterfly grille and has trapezoidal larger fog lamps.
We are still unsure which engine combinations Skoda will use in India. Will they be similar to the Laura or we will see even better engine options. Now the revelation here is the expected launch duration. We knew Skoda is eyeing its entry sometime this year but were never sure of the possible period. Upon asking the driver, we were told that the company is planning for an August 2013 launch of Skoda Octavia A7.
If everything goes well we can safely assume August-September as the launch months for Octavia ie just before the festive period. Like last time, we also see a test (or convoy) Polo which, the driver said, is being tested for ground clearance and some ‘Oil Sump’ related issues/changes.
