Spied: New Mule of 2014 Tata Vista Facelift Gets Caught

Here goes the upcoming Tata Vista facelift under the scanner, again!! Motor Vikatan has caught the test vehicle from Tata, all decked up in camouflage but this appears to be a different mule from the earlier spyshots.

As we stated in one of our earlier reports, the headlamps appear to have been made sharper. But why is are Tata Motors designers so intent on retaining the “Smiling Profile” of the engine grille? Don’t they want the Vista facelift to look more appealing?

It appears they are trying to create an audience-and-fan-base connect with the older Vista, and more importantly with the brand Indica, in the newer car.

However, many changes appear to have been concentrated at the rear portion of the car. This is substantiated from all the spyshots that have cropped up over the net till now.

Here’s an outline :

  • The decade-old “Christmas Tree” arrangement of the tail lamp cluster is bid goodbye to  and in comes a proper and more modern design which appears to end under the rear glass.
  • The number plate also moves up onto the bootlid from the current position of the rear bumper.
  • As a result, both rear bumper and the tailgate will go through makeovers to accommodate the changes.

Though nothing can be said in concrete at the moment, we wish the front end also goes through a decent makeover. Interior changes are also expected; they should have a better fit and finish. The quality of the materials should be better and upholstery should be finer.

However, the biggest change we, at MotorBash, are predicting is the introduction of the new CR4 diesel engine to the lineup instead of the existing BS3 TDI motor. The other 1.3L Quadrajet diesel engine and 1.4L SAFIRE petrol motor will continue to do duty.

We feel Tata should leave no stone unturned in trying to showcase the Vista facelift at the 2014 Auto Expo.
