Barely a few days back, Piaggio launched three auto Rickshaws under the name Ape City. According to Business Line, during the launch, Piaggio’s CMD Ravi Chopra also revealed that they want to get aggressive in the commercial vehicle market.
He revealed that the Piaggio will shortly launch a couple of 4-wheel commercial vehicles. One of them will belong to the half tonne segment and the other one will be a bigger one tonne LCV. Piaggio currently has the ‘Ape Mini’ in the half tonne segment. 
Mr. Ravi Chopra also revealed that they will replace this existing ‘Ape Mini’ with a new launch. And as he said that, we spotted a couple of Piaggio Ape Truks testing in Pune. The one in the pic is a blue colored mule while there was another yellow colored mule which we could not capture.
While there is no sticker or a label which could reveal anything but it appears that this is the Piaggio Ape Mini replacement that the company is preparing to compete against Tata’s Ace range of vehicles.
