Spied: Upcoming Mercedes Vito Based Force Motors MPV Caught on Tape!

During the unveiling of Force Traveller 26, we were told that Force will launch a luxury MPV in the Indian market sometime towards the end of 2013 ie within this year.

However, things do not appear to be going on time and during our test drive of Gurkha, we were told by one top Force official that the MPV will spill over to sometime next year in 2014. Whatever launch frame it may be, what we do know for sure is that Force continues testing its MPV for the Indian market and will be launched sometime next year.

As has been the history, Force Motors MPV is nothing but the old Mercedes Vito (Older Viano) and will come with the 2.2L FMTECH diesel engine shared with the Force One SUV. In terms of size, Vito is a huge van and we can expect the same roominess to be carried over when Force puts its moniker on it.

We have been told that Force’s unnamed MPV will be placed higher up the pecking order and will come with luxuries of a higher segment car. In all probability, Force MPV will be placed over the Force One SUV and we can expect a price tag around the Rs 15 Lakh bracket.

In a latest, this MPV has been caught testing again by a Team-BHP member Joe M at the Mumbai Pune highway on video. It continues to run under the same black hiding on steel rims but the driver’s seating position appears to be too high and more in the Tata Winger kinds!

Will this MPV be a Force to reckon with, then?
