With India’s new found love towards SUVs at their zenith, this is the best time for marque players like Jeep to make an official foray into the sub-continent.
And if this report from Top Gear is to be believed, Fiat is planning to launch the American hardcore offroaders – JEEP. This is not the first time we are hearing about Jeep’s Indian entry. For the last few months, things have been really building bit by bit and Jeep now looks almost certain to burn our roads with their land-crushing machines.
Jeep, along with the whole of Fiat is not doing very well even in the home market and an Indian entry might just do them the good they need right now. Jeep is expected to follow the top-down approach by launching the costlier Grand Cherokee and Wrangler first followed by comparatively more affordable ones.
Initially, all the SUVs would be imported as completely built units (CBUs) and hence expect them to cost a lot until they settle down in the country. Now, after reading this, wouldn’t you want to see a sparkling red Rubicon standing besides a Linea in Fiat showrooms?
