Tata Aria Facelift (Including Automatic) Auto Expo Bound, Launch in April 2014

So, after many months of spotting the facelifted Aria mules on the roads, we begin to hear its official launch date details. If you have been a regular of MotorBash, you were the first to see the Aria facelift way back in February 2013 (See here).

Following a couple of exclusive MB spottings, Tata officially unveiled the car at Geneva Motor Show in March. In September this year, we shared conclusive spyshots of Tata Aria Automatic which you can check here.

And now Cartoq.com claims that the Aria Facelift will be unveiled at the Auto Expo in 2014 and more importantly, the launch could take place as early as April 2014. It would be the first time Tata will showcase the crossover in India.

Apart from a 6-speed automatic gearbox, Aria facelift is expected to be powered by the higher powered 155PS/400Nm version of the 1.2L diesel engine. In its current form, Aria’s 2.2L motor produces 140PS and 320Nm of torque. More than the power output, it is the yummy 400Nm torque which is tempting us.

The Aria facelift features smoked bezel headlamps with transparent side blinkers. Rear also gets minor changes to the tail lamp cluster and also features a chrome outline. On the inside, we expect some real improvements to the interiors considering that this might just be the final chance buyers may give to the crossover, before calling it a dead horse!

With Mahindra’s launch of the entry W4 variant of XUV5OO, the war is already been announced. Aria facelift should bring in some real competition to the segment which is set to see many upcoming players.

Interestingly, Tata is also preparing a 400Nm version of Tata Safari Storme and we have its spyshots (here).
