Tata Bolt to be Launched on January 20

Tata Motors revival strategy started in February when they first showcased the Bolt and the Zest. Now the Zest has been around for some time and is doing pretty well. Bolt, the hatchback on the Horizonext ideology, is now set to be launched on January 20, 2015. As per a report on Cartoq.com, cars will be out for deliveries around the same time.

Bolt, apart from the new contemporary design gets the new 1.2L turbocharged Revotron petrol engine (with the same 90PS of power output) and 1.3 L multijet diesel albeit in the 75 PS variant. There would be, probably at launch or sometime later, a more powerful version of the car producing around 90PS from the same engine. AMT is also expected to be offered sometime sooner or later.

Another important feature which has been the talk of the town is the drive selection option which allows you to toggle among three different drive modes (Sport, Eco and City) at the touch of a button, a feature which is usually available only in high end cars. The car also boasts of inputs from an ex Formula 1 driver and also big names like AVL (intake systems), Bosch (engine management system) and ElringKlinger (pistons).

Eyes are on the car and if Tata can surprise with Bolt’s pricing we may have another successful product from Tata after Zest. Bookings of the car are already underway at an amount of Rs 11,000. You can check more details here.
