REVEALED: Tata’s Falcon 4 Hatch To Be Called ‘Bolt’; So is The Manza CS ‘NUT’?

It has now been revealed by Autocar India that the much-vaunted Falcon 4 hatchback from Tata Motors will be known as the Bolt. The Bolt will be present at the Tata Motors stall in the 2014 Auto Expo.  However. it will be officially unveiled on the 3rd of February.

Essentially, the Tata Bolt is a reworked version of the Tata Vista. The changes are wide, and hence the Bolt will be presented as a new car. Most of the body panels on the Tata Bolt will be different from that on the Vista. The striking feature will be the new set of tail-lamps that will be present on the Bolt instead of the vertically-stacked tail-lights on the Vista. The Bolt will also possess a redesigned front portion accompanied by some strong bodyline creases, however the basic silhouette will remain the same according to what the spyshots speak.

The interiors of the Vista were a big draw-off. However, the Bolt will carry a classier interior with an all-new dashboard and better seats and one of the spottings it has been revealed that they will look sportier too.

Coming to the mechanical parts, the centre of attraction will be Tata’s recently unveiled 1.2 Litre REVOTRON petrol engine. It will churn out a peak power of 85PS and 140Nm of torque. The Bolt will also have a diesel option in the form of  Fiat’s 1.3 L Multijet diesel engine, which we expect will be limited to the 90PS VGT version only. For a better ride quality and tighter handling, the Bolt will carry an all-new improved suspension.

There will also be the presence of an Electronic Power Steering ( EPS ) from a supplier called ZF. Being lighter than the Vista’s steering; this has allowed the use of a smaller diameter steering wheel.

After its official unveiling and public display, Tata will launch it around September-November this year. Does this mean that the Falcon 5 aka Manza CS will be termed as ‘Nut’ to complete the duo 😉

  1. Nice comment on the name. But at least they are not superstitious like Mahindra to name their entire lineup with “o” as the last letter of the name..
