Tata Hexa Spotted Undisguised From What Appears to be a Photoshoot & it Looks Interesting

India loves Utility Vehicles, be it full blown SUVs or crossovers but that has not helped Tata Motors. They have been able to arrest the slide marginally with their Zest and Bolt but the Aria has been a dismal failure and the new Safari Storme isn’t doing great either. But they are planning a barrage of models in the SUV segment to fight back and the first one will be the Hexa crossover which is a comprehensively re-engineered Aria.

New pictures of Tata Hexa have come up thanks to the folks at RPM x1000 which show the crossover undisguised and in full glory and in those new looks, Hexa looks real interesting with those muscular looks.

Tata Hexa 1

It was unveiled back at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2015 and is powered by the 2.2 litre VARICOR 400 diesel mill producing 156.4 bhp of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of peak torque in the range of 1,700 to 2,700 rpm. Rumours are afloat of a 6 speed automatic gearbox as well.

Tata Hexa 2

Hexa is slightly smaller than the Aria, which rounds off the length at 4,764 mm, width at 1,895 mm and an overall height of 1,780 mm. The concept model had 6 airbags, projector head lamps and climate control. The 6 seater car also had the convenience of captain seats in the middle row. The impressive looks were rounded off with 19 inch wheels!

These pictures appear to be from Hexa’s photoshoot and this may hint that Tata is preparing the launch of the crossover in the market. Hexa, when launched, will definitely replace the Aria and is expected to play in the segment at a more competitive price point.
