Safari Storme Facelift Launch This Year; New Details Inside

Tata is preparing their Safari Storme SUV for a facelift in India and according to our sources we have learnt that it will be launched within this year in India, most probably ahead of the festive season in India.

Our sources tell us that the new Safari Storme will get cosmetic changes on the exterior and the new grille is expected to be inspired from Land Rover. Apart from that there will be changes to the interiors as well.

On the existing Safari Storme, Tata has put the Double DIN touchscreen system in a single DIN slot. This is what the new Storme will come rectified with. This means the dashboard will be refreshed with some minor mods and is expected to have better finish.

A few weeks back, one completely camouflaged test mule of Safari Storme was spotted somewhere on the outskirts of Ooty which gives us a hint that the company may also be working on its mechanicals. This directly takes our attention to the recently launched new Aria which comes with more power.

Since, the Storme shares its 2.2L motor with Aria, this infers that new 2015 version may also get the 2.2L VARICOR motor in 150PS tune from the current 140PS. The new engine tune has also improved Aria’s mileage to 15.05kmpl (ARAI rated) and hence we expect Storme to be similarly rated. Apart from this, the new Storme is also expected to get a little more kit and features.

With the new Safari Storme facelift, Tata would be expecting a lot better response this time. We also believe the SUV has a lot of potential and with all the betterments, it would be an even more luring prospect. So, its only a matter of 2-3 months before the market goes abuzz with the launch of new Tata Safari Storme facelift.
