HOT Hatch: How About a 120 bhp Tata Bolt? May Come to Geneva!

Tata Motors is all set to surprise everyone at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show with a sportier version of their recently launched hatchback, Bolt. The company is also set to launch a new performance brand later in the year!

The Pune based company, as per a report on Autocar India, will be using the same 1.2 Liter Turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. This time though, Autocar says, the power output will be up from 90 PS to 121.7 PS. The car is also expected to be fitted with a wide body kit and larger wheels which will bring out a sporty and aggressive stance for the new hot hatch version. The interiors can also be spruced up in tandem with the overall package!

Bolt comes with a ground clearance of 165 mm and the hot hatch version is expected to sit lower than this to have a low centre of gravity. The peak torque output is also expected to get a boost from its existing 140 Nm, and to handle the extra juice the company may plonk in C501 gearbox sourced from Fiat.

The Bolt, along with the Zest, has been built with inputs from India’s ace racer Narain Karthikeyan and this new faster variant of the Bolt might be a result of those sessions. A 120 odd petrol hatch sounds real drool-maal, we await Geneva then!
