In a build-up to the two most important upcoming products from Tata, the company has launched separate websites for both Zest & Bolt. Both the websites reveal some of the official technical specifications and other details.

Both the upcoming twins will be powered by the 1.2L Turbocharged Revotron petrol engine which produces 85PS of peak power and 140Nm of maximum torque. The diesel engine will be the same 1.3L Quadrajet from Fiat, however with a change. Zest compact sedan will get the VGT (variable Geometry Turbo) version which produces 90PS and 200Nm and the Bolt hatch will be powered by the FGT (fixed geometry turbocharger) producing 75PS and 190Nm.

The interesting fact here is that the diesel variant of Zest will be equipped with an Automated Manual Transmission, making it the cheapest diesel auto gear shift sedan in India when it goes on sale.

Both the cars will be equipped with similar braking systems. It will consist of Ventilated disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear. Suspension components will also be identical, with Dual Path Independent McPherson strut with Antiroll Bar at the front and Semi Independent Twist beam with coil spring at the rear. The Zest sedan will have a fuel capacity of 44 Litres.

Interiors of the Zest will come neatly and elegantly designed. The website states that the Zest will possess Rugby-Shouldered seats, that will provide more comfort as they are contoured to fit around the body. The instrument console on the Zest will be inspired by a cockpit, and will provide all the necessary information at a glance. Other features of the car will be the elegantly designed projector lamps and the sophisticated looking tail-lamps. Interiors will also include a host of connectivity options, including a touchscreen system that can integrate with your smartphone.

On the other hand Bolt’s website talks more about the three driving modes – Normal Cruise, ECO Mode & Sports mode and connectivity options the car will come equipped with.

According to an earlier report we published, the Zest sedan could be launched by May or June this year. The Bolt hatch will closely follow on its heels. Such a move will set a perfect platform for Tata to continue till the festive season when the sales are expected to be all-time high.
