Tata Rejigs Zest’s Variant Lineup & Increases Prices; XM & XMS Now in 75 PS Trim Only

Tata initially offered only the Zest’s base XE variant in the 75 PS trim of the 1.3 liter Multijet diesel engine. Rest all the variants were available with the 90 PS version of the same engine. And now, they have re-jigged their variant line-up. The XM and XMS variants now come in the 75 PS trim and the 90 PS trims have been discontinued.

Apart from the power difference, the 90 PS trim of the Quadrajet motor comes with a Variable Geometry Turbocharger and churns out 200 Nm of torque. In comparison, the 75 PS trim produces 190 Nm and uses a Fixed Geometry Turbocharger. Both the tune options continue with 5-speed transmissions. The 90 PS version will continue to be offered in the XMA, XT and XTA variants. Tata has also removed alloy wheels from the XT and XTA variants.
