Tata Zica Details Revealed; Gets All New Engines; Revotorq Debuts…

Details of the much awaited Tata Zica have finally been officially disclosed. The car has been built on the XO platform of the Indica but apart from the pedal box and engine firewall, it is an all-new car. Zica has been styled by Tata’s European Technical Centre based in Coventry, United Kingdom.

ZICA – New Engines

Zica gets two brand new engines – the petrol is an aluminium 3 pot 1.2 litre Revotron motor with MPFI and Multi Drive. It churns out 85 PS of maximum power at 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. It weighs 1,012 kg.

The slightly heavier 1080 kg diesel version gets a 3 cylinder 1.05 litre Revotorq common rail mill with Multi drive with an aluminium head and cast iron block. It produces 70 PS of maximum power at 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of peak torque in the range of 1,800-3,000 rpm.

Zica measures 3,746 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width and has an overall height of 1,535 mm. The wheelbase is 2,400 mm and the ground clearance is a handsome 170 mm. The car gets ABS, EBD, corner stability control, dual front airbags and speed sensing auto door locks.

Zica also comes with Tata’s ConnectNext infotainment system mated with a set of 8 speakers! Apart from Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted controls, you can also pair your Android phone for music and smartphone based navigation.
