Toyota to Begin Production at its Engine Plant in Bangalore from Next Month

A couple of months back we reported that Toyota has proposed a diesel engine plant in India. Now the company is ready to roll out it’s first manufactured engine by next month. The plant is located at Bangalore. Mr. Shekar Viswanathan, Deputy MD, Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), said: “It will commence next month.

According to plans, TKM aims to manufacture One Lakh Engines and 2.4 Lakhs Transmission annually. Earlier last year, TKM has anounced that it would set up an engine plant and expand its transmissions unit, especially for its latest sedan Etios and hatchback Etios Liva. This project has a total investment of Rs. 500 Crores.
