Interesting, Volkswagen has planned to give the new Passat a 2.0 Litre Bi-Turbocharged Diesel(biTDI) Engine, mated with an electric motor which is expected to produce atleast 200 horses. More interesting is, some new engines bearing a turbocharger which will be petrol(TSI) measuring 1.4, 1.8, and 2.0 Litres are expected to produce around 130 to 250 bhp! And that’s whooping for a 2.0 Litre engine in India.
Th diesel engine’s mo0tor alone can provide a mileage or say driveability of upto 50 kms. Also, the car will use a stretched version of existing MQB Platform which will serve for many other variants of the Passat such as sedan, estate, etc.
