Upcoming ZEST Goes for a Coffee at CCD, Snapped!

Is Tata promoting or testing their Zest? This is the question that comes to our mind when we see these following spyshots of the car. Shall we call them spyshots at the first place, is something we need to think about.

Nonetheless, since the car has not been launched, we just do not have any other option, really. One of our regular reader Savio Tavadia has snapped this Tata Zest mule having coffee at CCD in Bangalore. Snapped at the posh Brigade Road, it is camouflaged with paper with Zest written all over it in a snazzy manner.

This mule carries projector headlamps, alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and what looks like LED DRL strips around those fog lamps. On the interiors, we see the dual tone dashboard with a prominent beige.

The steering also has mounted audio controls. However, the seats are not beige in color and are instead dark combo of two tones of black. This is a slightly different theme from the display car Tata has been showcasing which had a dash of beige on the steering as well as beige colored seats.

This is the manual version of the car on test as revealed by that 5-speed gearbox knob. Snapping at CCD might mean that Tata has given the car to some company employee for end-user testing, possibly. Zest will be launched with a new 1.2L 85PS and 140Nm turbocharged Revotron petrol engine and 90PS 1.3L Quadrajet diesel engine. This diesel engine will come mated with a manual as well as an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) gearbox, making it the cheapest automatic sedan in the country.

We had reported that Tata will launch the Zest during the first week of July, however, according to our source, the launch has been delayed by a few days/weeks for reasons not known till now.
