Video: New BMW X5 Caught Testing in Germany

Just like many other BMW cars, the X5 is also undergoing a makeover. Spy photographers at worldcarfans.com caught a X5 Prototype testing in Germany. With the psychedelic camouflage all around, we see that there’s no drastic change in the design sculpture. However, changes under the hood are expected.

As reports say, a new platform called ‘X for All’ is on the anvil and the same will be used for the entire X Line-Up. This new X5 is expected to be developed on that same platform. A weight loss of 150 Kg (Approx) is also expected to happen.

As for powertrains, a Hybrid version is anticipated, along with this, a Twin-Turbo 4.4-Litre V8 producing 565 BHP will be there. According to reports, a 2.0-Litre Diesel producing 245 BHP and 349 Nm could be added in the line-up.

This new avatar of X5 is expected to hit the production line sometime in 2013 and will go on sale in 2014.
