Volvo V40 Cross Country Petrol Launched in India at 27 Lakhs

Volvo India has launched the petrol variant of the V40 Cross Country in India at Rs 27 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai). Earlier, the V40 has been available in India only with a 2.0 litre diesel mill. The petrol variant is not just cheaper than the diesel but also emerges as the cheapest Volvo car available in India.

Engine:

The Volvo V40 T4 Cross Country is powered by a 1.6 litre four cylinder petrol mill which produces 179.5 PS of maximum power and 240 Nm of peak torque. Mated with a 6 speed automatic gearbox, the car aims to reduce the fuel consumption with Start Stop function by around 8 per cent.

Features:
V40 petrol gets an 8 inch TFT infotainment screen with three modes Elegance (amber), Eco (green) and Performance (red). It also gets laser assisted automatic braking which senses emergency situations beforehand and pre-charges the brakes to increase the impact of braking or even deploys the brakes if in case they aren’t timely applied.

The safety features continues into the head lamps as well with Active bending headlights. The company claims that this expands your vision range by about 230 per cent which adds 150 feet more for braking. The motorized lamps too can turn up to 15 degrees in either direction, which provide your vision a 90 per cent boost while cornering in the dark.

Safety:

The Volvo V40 T4 Cross Country boasts of a 5 star NCAP rating. Apart from the usual set of airbags one even gets driver knee airbags. It also features a safety cage made of boron steel. You also get whiplash protection to reduce neck injuries.
