So, here it goes official – as was speculated, Mahindra will indeed launch the new XUV500 facelift in India on the 25th of this month and there is a teaser cum ticker at the website which at the moment of writing this article says the launch is 2 days and 21 hours away.
In addition to this, Team-BHP reports that the 2015 XUV500 facelift will come with a new top of the line W10 variant which will sit over the W8 AWD. Current top W8 is offered in both 2WD and 4WD but the W10 may just be a 4WD option with a lot many features which are expected to include sunroof, DVD-compatible infotainment system with 7-inch screen which will be your reverse camera screen with an added feature of zoom. Along with this, it is also expected to get Start/Stop button.
In terms of mechanicals, the 2.2L MHAWK diesel engine will continue possibly with same power and torque outputs of 140PS and 330 Nm but expect tweaks for overall efficiency improvement. From the spyshots that have surfaced over uptill now, we know that the crossover will get a new face with a DRL strip splitting the headlamp in two parts each housing a projector along with other lights.
