Ford has launched the new 2014 edition of the Figo hatchback in the country. Since the press release doesn’t talk about the price, we believe it starts at Rs 3.99 lakhs ex-showroom according to the official site.
On the exteriors, the car doesn’t really receive any significant changes. Ford has just added the option of the “Mars Red” colour from the EcoSport’s palette to that of the 2014 Ford Figo.
Where the 2014 Ford Figo really scores is in the area of features and entertainment. Take for example the first-in-class Wi-Fi Hotspot feature. It is offered as a Special Value Pack at INR 9,790 ( ex-Showroom Delhi ). The pack will feature a dongle with an annual subscription package, and it would plug into the USB jack of the car’s music system to turn the car into a Chalta-Firta-WiFi-HotSpot!
Alongside the dongle, customers opting for the Special Value Pack would also be treated to Color-Coordinated seat covers and LED interior lighting. Ford has added a few features to the different variants of the 2014 Ford Figo. The penultimate variant, ZXi, now gets a driver side airbag and power adjust mirrors.
Along with that the base variant, E, will now get a host of features as standard offering. These include :
- Bluetooth Connectivity
- 2 DIN Audio – CD
- FM
- MP3
- Aux-In and USB as well
- 4 Speakers
- Roof Antenna
Ford is highlighting the advanced connectivity features of the 2014 Ford Figo in an ad campaign titled “Smart is the New Cool”. In addition to the comprehensive two-year or 100,000 km warranty, Ford will also be offering a “Happy Pocket Service” starting from INR 2,199/-. This will offer comprehensive scheduled service in a transparent way, claims Ford.

The new Figo continues with the same 71PS/102Nm 1.2L Duratec petrol motor and 69PS/160Nm 1.4L Duratorq diesel engine.

Though lacking any changes in the exterior form, we feel the 2014 Ford Figo is a good betterment from the previous model because of the feature additions it receives in turn making it more value for money.
