The fact that Honda chose India as a launching pad for its next generation City model tells about the enthusiasm the Indian customers have shown to the 3 previous generation models of this particular car.

The all new Honda City has the 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine which is the same as the one in entry-level sedan, the Honda Amaze. The car and the engine has been well received in the country. The 1.5L 4 cylinder DOHC i-DTEC diesel engine has been designed specifically for India and is based on the Honda’s ‘Earth Dreams Technology’.

The petrol driven City has an improved 1.5L 4 cylinder SOHC i-VTEC petrol engine. Exact specifications of these engines have not been revealed. Both the petrol and the diesel variants of the new City boasts a beautiful sporty design on the outside and has what Honda calls a ‘Layered Floating Cockpit’ maximizing ergonomics and imparting a smartphone like user friendliness. Honda also claims that the new version is more comfortable and fuel efficient than the outgoing model.
