Fiat India has delivered 455 units of their new Punto Evo to a prominent business house in Surat, Gujarat. This is the largest single order delivery for hatchbacks in India on a single day, something which surely will swell their monthly sales for October.
This is a huge order just a day before ‘Dhanteras’ (an auspicious day for Hindus when they believe buying metal brings prosperity), proves the might of the festive season rush in India and further strengthens the impact it has on sales.
The order was taken by Sukrit Autolink, the Fiat exclusive dealership in Surat and comprised of 190 Punto Evo with the 1.2L Fire petrol engine, and 265 Punto Evo with the famous 1.3L Multijet diesel. All the cars are of New Pearl White and Minimal Grey shades.
The Punto Evo boasts of a best in class ground clearance of 195mm and first in class rear air con vents. Fiat India offers the new Punto with a three year warranty with an option of extending it for two more years. The company is also offering a three year/45,000 km total repair and maintenance programme for new customers at competitive prices. They have also set the service interval to every 15,000 km for allowing a tension free ownership experience.
Punto Evo is one of the comeback cars for Fiat as they hope to make amends to their dismal market share. Hopefully things will get further boosted with the crossover Avventura which has managed to garner more interest among the prospective customers than even the Punto Evo, the very car it is based on!
