Vintage cars lovers are set for a treat this weekend as the 5th edition of the 21 Gun Salute International Vintage Car Rally is slated to enthrall the public with over 200 cars on February 21 and 22, 2015 which are selected from a pool of over 3,500 vintage cars. The weekend will also include musical performances and great Indian royal food.
The rally will be flagged off from the Red Fort on the morning of February 21, 2015 and pass through historic monuments like Rajghat, Teenmurti Marg, National art gallery etc and conclude at Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29 Gurgaon. At the Culmination point, a grand reception will be organised to felicitate the participants and other guests. The entire caravan of vintage cars, vintage bikes and scooters participating in the rally will become one of the biggest vintage car shows in India. On the second day of the rally these cars will take a round of Gurgaon.
Besides, showcasing the rich motoring legacy of India to the world, the rally takes up a social cause too. While previous editions have supported the welfare of special and blind children, this year it has added the message of ‘Save the Girl Child’. A percentage of the proceedings from this event will be given as a charity for the welfare & education of Girl Child.
The key attraction of this year’s rally will be the presence of the 1886 Benz Motorwagen, the world’s first car made by Karl Friedrich Benz. The participation of Malaysia Singapore Vintage Car Club with around 7 to 8 cars will also be a very interesting addition.
