The second edition of Renault India’s ‘Gang of Dusters’ is culminating today at Jaipur. The participants of this year’s drive have been travelling through parts of Rajasthan starting 15 of this month. This special initiative by Renault works to bring together Duster owners with a penchant for adventures and offers them and their family an opportunity to drive long distances and see places. Last year, the first such expedition took some 11 Dusters on a 5-day, 1400 km trip from Mumbai to Kolad along the Konkan coast.
This year, the ‘Gang’ comprises of some 30 Dusters traversing 1400 Kms through Jaipur, Bikaner and Khuri in the outskirts of Jaisalmer. The participants are scheduled to return back to Jaipur today. The Desert Odysesey, as this year’s expedition is being called, has been giving the participants occasions to meet and share experience with other Duster owners and driving enthusiasts, interact with Renault service personnel for maintenance tips as well as take part in activities such as parasailing, soft-roading and cultural events. Yesterday, the participants celebrated the festival of colors, Holi, at Khuri followed by a desert drive and parasailing.
Today, on the fourth and last day of the expedition, the participants will drive from Khuri back to Jaipur. The participants are expected back in Jaipur around 20:00 hrs today where all the ‘gangsters’ will be given commemorative Desert Odyssey badges.
