New Alto K10 Automatic Launch Very Soon, Most Probably Within This Month

Back in April this year, MotorBash shared the first ever camouflaged spyshots of the new Alto K10 facelift which was snapped testing on the hills. We stood our ground when the most renowned media houses were calling it an Alto 800 facelift. And today, we bring to you another exclusive, a sneak into its launch date…

We have seen spy pics of production models of Alto K10 facelift, Celerio Diesel, Dzire facelift as well as the mysterious Swift with DRLs (and other changes). Through our sources, we have learnt that Maruti will launch the Alto K10 facelift with AMT very soon in the market. By soon, we mean – it should be within this month itself and in very rare instances it will spill over to November 2014.

Alto K10 new

The more interesting news is, along with the conventional manual, Alto K10 facelift will come with the same AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) that made Celerio this popular. It will house the same 1.0L K10 peppy petrol engine but we expect it to become more frugal, possibly a wee bit more than Celerio’s 23+ kmpl (ARAI rating), since it will be lighter. This may mean, it may loose some pep, in the process!

And with this, Alto AMT will become country’s most affordable automatic car, at least till the time Tata brings in the Nano F-Tronic.

The current Alto K10 is a smart design but there is no doubt it has started to look dated. The new facelift will bring it very close in looks with the sibling Alto 800 but thankfully those ugly house-fly like eyes are gone and in comes a smarter looking Maruti Celerio-like face. And yes, it also means that we are getting a tallboy K10 now.
