Ameo, Volkswagen’s first compact sedan has been fully busted! A spy shot of the rear part of the car has been leaked by the folks at Motorbeam which pretty much reveals how the finished car will look. Set to be manufactured at the company’s Pune facility, the Ameo is their first Made for India Volkswagen.
The car sports a signature Volkswagen design. Shaped almost like a full sized C2-segment sedan, this sub 4 metre car will instantly remind you of Vento’s butt. The test unit also sports a TDI badge which should be nothing but the 1.5 litre diesel engine already on offer on Polo and Vento. This motor is present in two power tunes, one producing 90 PS of power (Polo) and the other hitting 105 PS (Polo GT diesel and Vento). We are not sure what variant will propel the Ameo.
Petrol though is expected to be the 1.2 litre naturally aspirated three pot mill producing 75 PS of power which we do not want the car to sport. They also have a more powerful 105 PS 4 cylinder 1.2 liter TSI engine and let us hope Volkswagen offers it on their sedan.

The alloy wheels have been borrowed from the Vento while the interiors get beige colored seats like Polo. Volkswagen Ameo will fight it out against Amaze, Dzire, Zest etc and will be officially unveiled at the Auto Expo on 3rd or 4th.
