Ashok Leyland has decided that it would not rest till it captures a sizeable market share. They are launching product after product even when the country is experiencing a tough downturn in the commercial vehicle segment.
They recently launched Partner, a Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV), which is a by-product of the Nissan-Ashok Leyland joint venture like their Stile and Dost.
Even though the commercial vehicle segment has seen a fall of around 26-28 per cent, Ashok Leyland has pretty much managed to maintain its market share. Even the company’s stocks are doing pretty well!
According to Ashok Leyland, they have focused primarily on driver comfort. The company claims that Partner’s is the first LCV in the country to get an air-conditioning, as an option though. It also has spacious car like interiors. The cabin can even be tilted for easy service accessibility.
Partner has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) capacity of 6.6 tons and can be used for transporting parcel goods, durables, perishables and FMCG products. It is available in two wheelbase options – one with 2850mm and the other one with 3350mm wheelbase.

Partner is powered by ZD30 Common Rail Diesel Engine (CRDI). It features power steering with tilt-adjustment, cable operated gear shifter and will be available at company’s 330 outlets across the country.
Ashok Leyland is offering a warranty of 3 years or 3 lac kms on the transmission and 1 year/unlimited kms on the overall vehicle.
