Audi’s aggression is what, we feel, forced other luxury manufacturers to pull up their socks in India. And since then, everyone including Mercedes, BMW and even Volvo are on their feet.
Venturing deep down the entry level segment, Audi intends to slug it out not with a SUV/crossover, neither with a hatchback! Guess what, it is the sharp looking A3 compact sedan (not everything ‘compact’ means sub 4 meters ;)) which is being prepared for our markets.
After many spyshots of the car from Mumbai and adjoining places, we have a new set of clearer spy pics coming yet again from Mumbai courtesy Oncars.in. The car, like the earlier spottings, runs without any camouflage whatsoever, however, with strapped badges. Like the front, the rear is also sharper and striking.
Currently A4 is the cheapest sedan Audi offers in India and Q3 S is the cheapest overall Audi offering in India at Rs 24.99 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi. According to reports, Audi is planning to launch A3 sedan just under the throat of Mercedes’ A-Class, B-Class and 1-Series from BMW.
It will definitely have an advantage of being a more spacious car and a luxury sedan! It is expected that the A3 will be offered in 1.8L & 2.0L TFSI petrol motors and a 2.0L 150hp diesel engine. The A3 is expected to be officially showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo in February with sales commencing sometime later.
So, if you thought reasonable but limited money can’t buy you a luxury sedan, here is Audi bowing down just for you!
