Bajaj to Launch New Cargo Vehicle in 2016

Bajaj Auto’s expansion plan includes not just the RE60 but a new cargo vehicle as well. This is not the first time that Bajaj Auto has showed interest in the commercial vehicles category as long back they used to have a major controlling stake in Bajaj Tempo, which is now known as Force Motors.

As per a report on Money Control, the Pune based auto maker will bring out a new cargo vehicle in the financial year 2016. Will that be based on the RE60 or their existing 3-wheeler range? We are not sure…

Apart from their petrol engines, Bajaj also has a few diesel engines which do duty on their 3-wheeler people movers. Bajaj will have the option of choosing from one from them. Being a cargo vehicle, we expect it to be diesel powered.

The report also says that Bajaj intends to grow in the three-wheeler market with the launch of diesel variants and we have spotted a lot of test mules on test at various times.

Bajaj had also showcased a fantastic looking concept – U-Car at the Auto Expo which was powered by a triple spark 4-valve fuel injected engine with scissor doors. We hope to see that go into production one day!
