Just a few days back we had informed all our readers that Maruti is preparing the new Alto K10 for its launch in the days to come and voila, the word in the house is that the company has showcased the car during some concert in Chandigarh, revealing the car in total!
The new K10 was first revealed by MotorBash, back in April this year when two test mules were snapped testing on the hills. Ever since, many a times the car has been snapped and it is already known that Maruti Suzuki has started production and a lot of showroom ready cars are ready for dispatch at Maruti’s stockyards.
The new Alto K10 basically carries over the image of the Alto 800 in terms of body shape. But having said that, don’t fret, the face is much better and is inspired from the Celerio. It gets larger swept back head lamps with a new front grille. The bonnet shape loses creases and appears to be a bit rounded. The front bumper also goes through a change and so has been the fog lamp cluster.
New Alto K10 is expected to carry over Celerio’s engine tune of 68PS and 90 Nm for the 1.0L K-Series petrol engine but with better rated fuel efficiency figures of over 23 kmpl. But the biggest change is the introduction of the Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) on this small Maruti making it the cheapest automatic car in the country, at least till the time Nano F-Tronic makes way.
Launch, let us tell you, is just a few days away!
