Japanese Auto major, Nissan today unveiled a sedan car named Sylphy at the Beijing Auto Show 2012. The car would be powered by a 1.8L 4 cylinder petrol engine mated to a next-gen XTRONIC CVT.
This is the same car which would be sold in North America under the name of Nissan Sentra. Sylphy would go on sale this summer in China. Added to this, Nissan would launch this car in as many as 120 countries by 2014 covering the major markets in 2012 itself.
This definitely seems to be a Corolla-Cruze challenger in Indian market, if Nissan plans to get it here, which seems pretty likely. Nothing has been mentioned by the company as such. Let’s wait to hear any updates from them but we would keep a close eye on Sylphy/Sentra’s developments.
