BMW 1-Series Family to Get New Member – Entry Level 114d

Just yesterday we shared the news of BMW launching a cheaper variant of its X1 SUV in Australia powered by a 2.0L diesel engine.

Here comes another great news of its entry level 1-Series family. The car is called the 114d and will be the entry level variant of the 1 Series. As we can make out from the name, this 114d will be powered by a diesel engine. The 1.6-Litre TwinPower Turbocharged Diesel Engine delivers 95 HP of power at 4,000 RPM and 235 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 2,750 RPM with an impressive fuel average of 4.1 to 4.3 Liters per 100 kilometres!

This car touches 100 kmph from standstill in 12.2 Seconds and hits a top speed of 185 kmph. The CO2 emissions is approximately 109g/km. BMW‘s EfficientDynamics Technology comes as standard with the 114d. This includes features like:

  • Electronic Power Steering
  • Automatic Start/Stop Function
  • Shift Point Indicator
  • Brake Energy Recuperation
  • Reduced Rolling Resistant tyres

Looking at the trend BMW is going down the ladder to get more volumes and this in turn, is ensuring more people get to afford the grand German tag. Though we’re still clueless about when the 1-Series will come to India, we promise to provide you with the latest news. Stay tuned for more information.
