BMW Goes Small – Showcases ‘Compact Sedan’ to Attack CLA & A3!

BMW at the Guangzhou Auto Show has unveiled a new compact sedan in concept form. Set to be placed against products like the Audi A3 and Mercedes Benz CLA, the new luxury compact sedan can be a wonderful offering for emerging markets like India and the exciting response to the A3 and others is a testimony to this fact.

The new car which can be called as 1-Series sedan gets the familiar BMW silhouette. The large bonnet has typical BMW charm with a prominent swage line, dynamic Hofmeister kink and surfaces moulded with impressive depth lending the car a sporty attitude. While dimensions and specifications have not been revealed but we expect this car to be based on the UKL platform used in the BMW X1 and Mini hatchbacks.

The hexagonal twin circular LED head lights on either side point inwards towards the kidney grille, creating a visual link between the kidneys and headlights that lends the car a purposeful look. The rear LED tail lamps and integrated boot spoiler do make the rear look sporty.
