2016 BMW 3-Series facelift gets a host of changes and misses out on petrol engines…
BMW India has launched the new 2016 3-Series facelift in India at a starting sticker price of Rs 35.90 lakhs (ex-showroom, all-India). Apart from the new TwinPower turbocharged diesel mill from the new X3, the company has also introduced a new trim M-Sport. The car is now capable of sprinting from standstill to 100 kmph in 7.2 seconds and can hit a top speed of 230 kmph. Transmission duties are overseen by an eight speed gearbox with steering mounted paddle shifters available in all the variants except the base trim (Prestige).
The car now boasts of restyled bumpers with newer air intakes at the front. Bi-xenon lights with new LED Daytime running lights are available as standard with Adaptive LEDs as an optional extra. The rear gets new L shaped LED tail lights. Differentiating the variants from each other are subtle changes in the interiors based on the trim levels.
The new M Sport trim gets a body kit, M steering, sports seats, choice of leather upholstery, heads-up display and a new driving mode called Sport+. The company has also added that a petrol mill will also be added to the line-up later on.
