BMW to Recall 7,600 Cars to Rectify Faulty Headrests

After Ferrari and Suzuki, it’s BMW to recall a good number of vehicles for a rectification. A total number of 7,600 units of the 3-Series cars which were manufactured between October 18, 2011 and March 8, 2012, will be recalled.

During testing, it is detected that these cars’ front seats are having faulty head rests which could move down in case of a collision or crash causing serious neck and back injuries. Though no head or back injuries are reported till date, BMW will initiate the recall process as soon as possible. BMW will contact the owners of these 7,600 cars, and will advice them to get their car examined in the nearest authorized service centre. The authorized service centers will also be instructed to rectify any fault detected by inserting a small clip. Any repairs or replacement related to this issue will be completely free of cost.

If you’re a 3-Series owner, we suggest you to check your vehicle’s manufacturing date and if it’s between the aforesaid dates, wait for BMW to contact you. If they don’t, please get in touch with the nearest service centre available.
