It’s well-known fact that Hyundai is a company which brings in changes and refreshes to their products the quickest, they are sometimes earlier than our expectations. And it’s an equally known fact that the South Korean manufacturer has massive plans globally, especially in Europe. The company launched the new i20 in India back in August last year. Its European debut however was made a few months back.
In an interesting spotting, the good folks at Carscoops have posted pics of the test unit with partial camouflage at the front. Spied in Germany, it is being reported that even the interiors were covered up and the car also sports a rear disc. Now our regular readers will remember that in the sea of spy shots which came before the launch of the Elite i20 in India, test units were spotted with a rear disc. However, the production version came only with a drum unit.
There were words previously that the Korean car maker might come out with a sporty version of the new i20N, a performance oriented hot hatch version of the car. A performance version of the car would definitely help the brand gain some ground in the European arena which has a strong fan following for the hot hatch genre of cars.
While details about the car still remain sketchy, there is yet another possibility. The rear boot cover has the word ‘blue’ embossed in the same colour. Interestingly that’s the same font and writing in which the manufacturer labels its hybrids!
