Volkswagen’s cheapest sedan in the country, the Vento is scheduled to get a mid-life facelift by the end of this year and this is known ever since the first news of the 1.5L diesel engine broke out.
Honda Cars India Ltd had stopped the production of the new iteration of their highly successful mid-size sedan City last month after selling 53,605 units since its launch in January this year. The company decided to shift the production from its Greater Noida plant to their new plant at Tapukara in Rajasthan.
Maruti Suzuki’s Ciaz is being touted to be the next big thing in the C-segment in India and a possible threat to the segment leaders Honda City and Hyundai Verna. And Maruti is serious about this!
Maruti is real-time busy these days. At one end they are busy working on their first ever light commercial vehicle (LCV), and at the other their upcoming crossover S-Cross and Celerio Diesel are taking shape. However, amidst all this the first product to come to our shores is the mid-sized sedan Ciaz.
Other than the Duster, the Renault range in India has not really caught the Indian buyers’ fancy. It’s not the vehicles’ fault per se and infact, all of them are fine products to be honest. However, they are just not attractive enough to lure an average Indian away from the clutches of Maruti, Hyundai, Honda, and a few others…
