After taking it to other markets, Chevrolet has launched the new Trax/Tracker in Chile. It joins Chevrolet’s current lineup of SUVs in the country which include Captiva, Traverse etc.
The new Trax gets 1.8L 4 cylinder MPFI petrol motor which produces 140bhp of maximum power output at a high 6300rpm and a peak torque of 178Nm at 3800 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Available in three trims, Tracker gets 16 inch alloys in the top trims and steel wheels in the base variant. In terms of security options, it gets ABS, EBD, collapsible pedals, 6 airbags, stability control etc.
Dimension Comparison With EcoSport
Talking about dimensions, Tracker is 4248mm long, 1776mm wide and 1657mm high and has a wheelbase of 2555 liters. In comparison, Indian-spec EcoSport is 3999mm long (including spare wheel it is 4170mm), 1765mm wide and 1708mm high with a wheelbase of 2520mm. This means Tracker is 249mm longer, 11mm wider and 51mm shorter than EcoSport. Tracker also has a 35mm advantage in terms of its wheelbase.

Chevrolet Tracker goes directly against the likes of EcoSport in Chile.
Chevrolet has launched this compact SUV in many international markets however, there has been no official indication on its Indian launch. Though there have been a few speculations, however that real intent from Chevrolet is not seen till now.
