General Motors have finalized the third quarter of this year for its all-important launch of premium hatchback SAIL. So, we should be able to hear something concrete about the car in around 4-5 months from now.
SAIL has been caught testing a few times. We also caught the SAIL sedan testing in Pune. SAIL hatch was displayed by GM at the Auto Expo 2012 and this car would replace the UVA here in India.
Also, the new version of Chevrolet Captiva SUV is also planned sometime in the second half hopefully. GM also mentioned about a new multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) but did not want to name it. However, we know that it is the Enjoy which GM would be launching soon.
We would be launching the Sail in Q3, and the small car segment along with the multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs) will continue to be our main focus” said S. Sawhney, vice president, sales.
Company also declined any Light Commercial Vehicle launch in 2012.
