Finally the Chinese Auto Market gets the much awaited and the latest Jaguar F-Type. The F-Type is priced between 1,040,000 yuan (~Rs. 92.6 Lakhs) and 1,540,000 yuan (~Rs. 1.37 Crore).
The Chinese F-type comes with two engine options:
3.0-liter Supercharged V6 Engine producing 380 Horses and a massive 5.0-Liter Supercharged V8 producing 500 odd horses!
In China, the F-type is expected to enjoy a pretty wide price gap between the Porsche 911 which is priced between 1.47 and 2.35 million yuan and the Mercedes Benz SL Class which has a price ticker between 1.19 yuan and 1.99 million yuan. The F-Type sits cleverly around these two competitors.
F-type adds to the sportscar portfolio of Jaguar in China and sits under the bigger XK which has not been a big success for the company. Would Jaguar consider the F-Type for India anytime soon, it remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Jaguar has been caught testing XF sedan (quite possibly) with an entry level 2.2L turbo diesel engine from Evoque in Pune.
