1479 hp, 1600 Nm, 0-100 in 2.5s: Welcome Bugatti CHIRON – Successor of Veyron [Geneva Motor Show]

Bugatti Chiron is mind-boggling in every aspect!

If you thought the Bugatti Veyron was crazy then you have to meet this new monster – Chiron the successor of Veyron. Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the Chiron will be powered by the same 16 cylinder mill of its predecessor but boasts of a 25 per cent increase in performance thanks to a host of modifications.

Bugatti Chiron Engine & Performance

The 8.0 litre mill gets four new and larger turbochargers which help the car produce the peak torque output of mind-boggling 1,600 Nm at just 2,000 rpm and stay all the way up to 6,000 Nm. The maximum power output has been increased to a maniac 1,479.1 bhp! The car gets a 7 speed dual clutch transmission and a full time all-wheel drive system. The maximum speed has been electronically limited to 420 kmph to protect the tyres and the car can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 2.5 seconds (claimed)!

The car gets a new carbon fibre structure and a new adaptive chassis with 5 modes to change as per the requirement. The front wheel gets 20 inch tyres with 8 piston callipers on the discs, while the rear gets 21 inchers with 6 piston callipers. Bugatti also added that the Michelins are now easier to install and will have a lower operating cost.

Like the Veyron, the Chiron too will be a limited run and will see only 500 of these hit the world.

Want one? Better hurry as a third of them are already booked! Price? That would be 2.6 million US Dollars (~Rs 17.75 crores)!
