Closest Yet Spy Pics of Upcoming Tata Bolt

Bolt has been a claimed by Tata as a world of change over the outgoing Vista, yet it does share an uncanny resemblance with the current car on sale.

We have received these new closest yet spyshots of Bolt from Tamil Nadu through our avid reader Mr Relesh. With the amount of kit this car is loaded with, it appears to be a higher variant with simple alloy wheels, projector headlamps etc.

The headlamp unit houses projectors, inwards placed side blinkers, regular lamp and some dashes of chrome. Though we have not seen them yet, but is that a DRL strip under the projector?

The tail lamp cluster has found a new position and finally Tata has ditched the Christmas tree configuration. It houses the regular stuff but looks upmarket and those two brake light strips will look good!

Front is accentuated with a new honeycomb grille and a chrome strip over it. The dashboard comes in sporty orange and black combo. There are steering mounted controls, infotainment screen, polygonal AC vents with chrome outlines and thankfully the instrument cluster has moved to its original position ie in front of the driver!

There is no clear giveaway on which engine is this mule carrying but we know that both Bolt and Zest will come with 85PS 140Nm 1.2L REVORON Petrol engine and 1.3L Multijet diesel engine in two tunes – 75PS FGT and 90PS VGT. Zest will also come with the AMT on the diesel engine.

Now, there are three bits which Tata has not confirmed yet;

  1. Whether the Bolt will also be loaded with an AMT box on the diesel?
  2. Whether the Revotron petrol will get AMT gearbox?
  3. Will Bolt launch along with Zest or later?

According to what we know, Bolt may NOT come with an AMT box from the word go. Neither will the Revotron petrol get AMT, at least from the start. And there is a possibility of Tata launching the Zest earlier as planned (by July first week) and Bolt coming a month or two later.
